Would have updated before now

but I had some internet complications this weekend. I think my computer had become infected with a bug of some sort... anyhow, it seems better now.

I have a new list for everyone:
20 Ways you Maintain a Healthy Level of Insanity

1. At Lunch Time, Sit In Your Parked Car With Sunglasses on and Point a Hair Dryer At Passing Cars. See If They Slow Down.

2. Page Yourself Over The Intercom. Don't Disguise Your Voice.

3. Every Time Someone Asks You To Do Something, Ask If They Want Fries with that.

4. Put Your Garbage Can On Your Desk And Label It "In."

5. Put Decaf In The Coffee Maker For 3 Weeks. Once Everyone Has Gotten Over Their Caffeine Addictions, Switch To Espresso.

6. In The Memo Field Of All Your Checks, Write "For Sexual Favors"

7. Finish All Your Sentences With "In Accordance With The Prophecy."

8. Don't Use Any Punctuation

9. As Often As Possible, Skip Rather Than Walk.

10. Ask People What Sex They Are. Laugh Hysterically After They Answer.

11. Specify That Your Drive-through Order Is "To Go,"

12. Sing Along At The Opera.

13. Go To A Poetry Recital And Ask Why The Poems Don't Rhyme.

14. Put Mosquito Netting Around Your Work Area And Play Tropical Sounds All Day.

15. Five Days In Advance, Tell Your Friends You Can't Attend Their Party because You're Not In The Mood.

16. Have Your Coworkers Address You By Your Wrestling Name, Rock Hard.

17. When The Money Comes Out The ATM, Scream "I Won! I Won!"

18. When Leaving The Zoo, Start Running Towards The Parking Lot, Yelling "Run For Your Lives, They're Loose!"

19. Tell Your Children Over Dinner. "Due To The Economy, We Are Going To Have To Let One Of You Go."

I am very saddened by the death of former President Ronald Reagan if I could afford the trip or knew someone who was willing to drive up to DC I would go to see the coffin at the rotunda. I feel much the same way about Reagan, that is I talk of him and think of him, in much the same way as my mother glorifies JFK. Never has any politician had such a way with people, never has anyone had as much influence in my life, more directly than most people will ever realize. I have never met the man, but as a child of the 1980's every word he said filled me with hope and longing to explore all the potential that America provided.

I am older now, more jaded, and I recognize that the land of opportunity doesn't hold the same things for everyone. Still, I maintain a very high level of patriotism and optimism that I live in the greatest country in the world. This is nationalistic, yes... even jingoistic maybe, but to the extent that I take pride in my country I don't believe that is wrong.

I like to think that I have taken off the blinders that make me and so many Americans insensitive to the suffering of others, but I hope that I maintain the level of pride and extreme love for the country which offers me the opportunity to move beyond myself in and my country or not. The freedom alone to choose makes me very proud indeed.

Today, I am really taken aback by everything that has happened. I stayed up most of the night listening to recycled CNN reports about the itinerary for this week and thinking how odd it is that Reagan is no longer alive. Whether you liked him or not he accomplished a great deal in eight years. Without the influence of his presidency I likely would not have had the deep sense of civic duty I now have. For that I am sooo grateful. Thank you Mr. Reagan wherever you are and God Bless!
