I read a stat recently that every single man, woman, and child in the US would have to own 15 dogs and 45 cats in order to control the pet overpopulation problem, that something like 38% of the animals in shelters are purebred, and that a staggering percentage of animals in shelters (somewhere near 90%) either are euthanized in a shelteror spend their entire life in a non-euthanizing shelter, that is, they never leave the shelter. These are just sad and I don't understand why anyone would be so careless or how they could then jusify to themselves their actions.
Anyway, I fond homes for the following so far 5 four and a half month old puppies:
Nell
Rockwell
Tabby
Piper
Whistler
Yeserday, I was able to take Hershey and her brand new two day old pups (all eight of them) to a safehouse/foster situation, that's nine more dogs who will get excellent care and good homes.
One of the dogs was killed by someone who has been trespassing on my grandmother's property and choked it to death, this kind of cruelt makes me simultaneously angry and very, very sad.
So here's what I have left to place... I still need to find homes for two adult male Aussie Shepherd and Lab mixes each about 1 and a half years old and a 10-12 week old female black lab puppy (cute as a button).
If you know of anyone in VA or nearby interested in a dog please let me know, email me for pics or more information (unfortunately I don't have a pic of the lab puppy yet).
