Mercurial

Two interesting but very different websites...

Flowers for Al and Don

If you are interested in sending flowers to gay couples in San Francisco waiting in line to be married.

Kingdom Hospital

For any Stephen King fan, no explanation needed, but check out the site. Comes across as very normal at first, but keep refreshing and you'll see what is cool about it!

Yesterday wasn't bad, maybe the week will close on a good note...

Me as Poetry

I am heroic couplets; most precise
And fond of order. Planned and structured. Nice.
I know, of course, just what I want; I know,
As well, what I will do to make it so.
This doesn't mean that I attempt to shun
Excitement, entertainment, pleasure, fun;
But they must keep their place, like all the rest;
They might be good, but ordered life is best.
What Poetry Form Are You?

Quizzage and some real (GASP!) content...

Calliope
~Calliope~
Your muse is Calliope, the Fair Voiced, Chief muse
and the muse of Epic Poetry. Her symbol is the
writing tablet. I wonder if you'll end up as
the next Tolkein...?

Which of the Nine Muses is your muse?
brought to you by Quizilla

Ok, I really want to see The Passion of the Christ. I have heard it is terribly dark, violent, graphic -- not something I usually go for. And no I am not even getting into the religious implications, as I told my friend junkbox, I have the spirituality of a pineapple... I want to go to evaluate the filmaking. I have heard that the film was so well crafted and I just want to see some fine filmmaking in action.

I think fine filmmaking is a rare occasion, and provides about the only reason for me to even venture out to a theatre anymore. I suppose I have just the opposite philosophy of kirixchi and junkbox who both head out to see the blockbusters and action/adventure stuff in general. This is not to say that I don't absolutely love my share, I am sure most people have heard me voice my love for movies like Spaceballs and Robin Hood: Men in Tights. I don't so much go for films like X-Men, the Matrix, or superhero-esque movies because they are just not my cup of tea. I am one of the few people I know who has never seen any of the following:

ET
Jurassic Park
Top Gun
Independance Day

Not to say they aren't good movies, they just don't motivate me to go to the theatre, and yes I almost always spell theatre like that unless spell check "fixes" it for me!

On the other hand I have seen movies a bunch of people have never heard of:

The Cat's Meow
Monsoon Wedding
The Royal Tennenbaums
