Movie: Calendar Girls (in theaters), Blow (on dvd/vhs)

Book: All This and Heaven Too by Rachel Field, or Here on Earth by Alice Hoffman

Musical group: Sigor Ros(that's the group) Agaetis Byrjun(that's the album) - they're an Icelandic group and have just incredibly haunting stuff

LJ User: FairOriana

Adventure: Hmmm, being unadventurous, I have no idea. Go horseback riding on the beach! How's that? It's much fun!

The music really sounds like something I would like and I have been wanting to see Calendar Girls!

Thanks for the recommendations!

1. Movie: Vanilla Sky or The Life of David Gale

2. Book: The Fall (Albert Camus) ot The Secret Life of Bees (I can't think of the author's name and my copy is on loan to my Mom; sorry about that!)

3. Music: My obvious choice...Tori Amos! :o) Or Sarah Brightman. Definitely Sigur Ros, as well. That was a great suggestion; I <3 them!

4. LJ Users: This is a tough one. I have so many awesome LJ buddies. I'd say either fullofwhispers or sparklesnort

5. Adventure: Hmmm. What about para-sailing? ;-)

Thanks too for all the recommends -- I nabbed a couple of people from your friends list ;)

Also, about "The Fall" how would you rate it in comparison to "The Plague" (Camus) because I really liked that book, but I haven't read "The Fall" and don't know anything about the plot...

Blue Angel
I haven't heard anything about this book... I will have to check it out on Amazon sometime tomorrow! Thanks for the recommendation.

Was Magnolia good? I didn't seem like my kind of movie, but then again, it did, I think I didn't see it, just because I don't like Tom Cruise (I don't think he takes acting seriously) but I have been proven wrong before, and I have heard extremely good things about the movie. I think I will give it a try... you convinced me!

Re: Blue Angel
The reason I like Magnolia has a lot to do with the way the story is editted. It probably wasn't the first of its kind, but it was the first one I'd seen that goes from plot to plot in different times and places and then weaves them all together. The soundtrack, Aimee Mann, is itself enough to make the film worth renting, in my opinion :D

I don't want to say much about Blue Angel, because I might spoil it. I read it last semester in my Postmodern Satire class. I'd love to know what you think about it when you finish the book.
